[GD-01] Singapore Art Week
I had a huge opportunity to work with my colleagues in Practice Theory to design for Singapore Art Week 2022. It is an annual event that celebrates the visual arts scene, featuring artworks and exhibitions by local and international artists.
We started by ideating different concepts and questioning ourselves:
What defines art?
How do we come up with a design concept that can be easily understood by the general public upon the first glance?
Since the abbreviation for Singapore Art Week is SAW, we came up with a simple yet playful concept that focuses on the theme of SIGHT.
We painted many variations of eyes and experimented around using different markers and textures. We worked on the poster layouts and created multiple adaptations of it to be sent to the client for approval. These are the final designs approved by the National Arts Council in Singapore. After finalising the designs and packaging them for print, they are plastered across Singapore to promote this nation-wide event.
